Holidaying in France:

Travelling to France by sea is now more popular option than selecting a connecting flight route. People holidaying in France may want to consider a ferry crossing as a way of getting to their destination. A recent study of Wanderlust and AITO showed that 50 france ferrypercent of passengers plan one or two weeks in the UK, where over 70 percent plan to travel in Europe. Consumers believe that the destination must be a more important factor than the price to book travel abroad.

Ian Bradley from the Association of Independent Tour Operators (AITO) believes this is an excellent way to travel to travel close to home. He said, "It`s probably cheaper to take your car and drive to France on a ferry rather than if you have two or three kids and putting them on a plane and flying there. Holidaymakers can then opt to travel to a caravan site for an affordable holiday on the continent. There were 10% fewer deals around this year, however, because companies anticipated less business thanks to the recession and so cut their capacity.”
