I heard that all British passports are not valid to travel on Dover Calais route. Is that true? Do I necessarily have to take an immigration passport for travelling to France? From where can the current regulations can be clarified?

There is a compulsory Immigration requirement for travelling from Dover to Calais and the fact that all British passports are not valid to travel on Dover Calais route is true.
